Workspace Designer automates the process of space planning using your 2D or 3D Symbols. Running within the industry standard AutoCAD platform, Workspace Designer™ adds real intelligence and streamlines every stage of your design process from the initial concept to final rendered walkthrough and bill of materials.

Symbols & Product Types

Workspace Designer™ can be used with any AutoCAD symbols. The program can be made to work with your existing products such as :-

Intelligent Product Placement

Products are inserted as blocks, with intelligence including :-

  • Auto insertion position
  • Auto linking to existing products
  • Connection only to valid sides
  • Parametrically drawn from user friendly screen interface

Finish options are populated on to the blocks to ensure 100% production ready take off.

Valid finish's for selections can be set from your HRP system.

Contains automatic insertion routines such as :-

  • Tile washing onto screens
  • Addition of connectors at frame/screen junctions
  • Stackable frames, and frame connectors.
  • Draw rods, link plates etc.
  • Change of height adjustment packs
  • Management of shared components

Workspace Designer™ calculates the automatic sizing of ancillary & attached components, by selecting a previously installed product to attach to.
Rules based sharing of support structures & link plates under adjacent desks.

Workstation standards both local and web based.

Simple clash detection aids quality control, preventing the designer creating invalid product specifications.

Parametrics

Within Workspace Designer™ specify the number of workstations, the size and type required and the Parametrics option will automatically insert the symbols scaled correctly into your drawing in the appropriate arrangement with product code generated automatically.

Change Management

Changes can be made easily at any point in the design process. Workspace Designer allows you to globally or individually change fabric & finish options, tiling types, component sizes, and associated products. Select this item and the user interface shows valid change options, this (upon acceptance) updates the drawing and its product codes etc.

Bill Of Materials

Using product codes generated by the symbols inserted, Workspace Designer™ can create a Bill of Materials which can be used to order/manufacture necessary components.

  • Drawing validation for correct assembly of components.
  • Output of product code, finish options & qty from the drawing into an external database; linking descriptive and pricing fields.
  • This pricing database is configurable by operator entry, and can also be linked to an existing MRP system.
  • Bi-directional MRP Link.
  • Quotation production, plus excel, word, text or SIF file outputs.
  • Multiple sorting options e.g. by product code, product line grouping or on facilities management information (FM) (i.e. By department or area).
  • Time based stock control.

Visualisation

Workspace Designer™ automatically converts the used symbols from 2D to 3D. An automatic link is created using VIZually Rich Technology to 3DS Max or Viz, for photo realistic, multi colour, animatable file, with post processor options. This allows you to create visualisations instantly for ALL of your projects.
